Voters Eligible for Protected Address Status

Pursuant to Florida Statute 119.071(4)(d), individuals from this list may request "protected address" status for themselves, their spouses and children to keep their home addresses and telephone numbers confidential.

If you qualify for “protected address” status according to the list below and wish to protect your address, download and complete the Public Records Exemption Request form. (You will need Adobe Reader to access this form.) Complete the form and return to:

  • Active or former Law enforcement personnel, including correctional and correctional probation officers; 
     
  • Personnel of the Department of Children and Family Services whose duties include the investigation of abuse, neglect, exploitation, fraud, theft, or other criminal activities; 
     
  • Personnel of the Department of Health whose duties are to support the investigation of child abuse or neglect, determination of benefits, or the investigation, inspection, or prosecution of health care practitioners; and personnel whose duties include, or result in, the determination of adjudication of eligibility for social security disability benefits, the investigation or prosecution of complaints filed against health care practitioners, or the inspection of health care practitioners or health care facilities licensed by the Department or Health; 
     
  • Personnel of the Department of Revenue or local governments whose responsibilities include revenue collection and enforcement or child support enforcement; 
     
  • Firefighters, certified in compliance with F.S. 633.35; 
     
  • Current or former Justices of the Florida Supreme Court, district court of appeal judges, circuit court judges and county court judges; 
     
  • Current or former prosecutors (state attorneys, assistant state attorneys, statewide prosecutors, or assistant statewide prosecutors); 
     
  • Current or former public defenders, assistant public defenders, criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, and assistant criminal conflict and civil regional counsel;
  • Current or former human resource, labor relations, or employee relations directors, assistant directors, managers, or assistant managers of any local government agency or water management district whose duties include hiring and firing employees, labor contract negotiation, administration, or other personnel-related duties; 
     
  • Current or former United States attorneys and assistant United States attorneys;
     
  • Current or former Judges of United States Courts of Appeal, United States district court judges, and United States magistrate judges;
     
  • Current or former code enforcement officers;
     
  • Current or former guardians ad litem, as defined in s. 39.820;
     
  • General magistrates, special magistrates, judges of compensation claims, administrative law judges of the Division of Administrative Hearings, and child support enforcement hearing officers;
     
  • Current or former juvenile probation officers, juvenile probation supervisors, detention superintendents, assistant detention superintendents, senior juvenile detention officers, juvenile detention officer supervisors, juvenile detention officers, house parents I and II, house parent supervisors, group treatment leaders, group treatment leader supervisors, rehabilitation therapists, and social services counselors of the Department of Juvenile Justice;
  • County Tax Collector;
  • Current or former investigators or inspectors of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation;
  • Donor or prospective donor, Cultural Endowment Program Trust Fund, Citizen Support Organizations or National Historic Landmarks (publicly owned houses);
  • Current or former impaired practitioner consultants whose duties result in a determination of a person's skill and safety to practice a licensed profession;
  • Service members who served in the armed forces, reserve forces, and National Guard after September 11, 2001.

VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND STALKING VICTIMS

The Florida Office of the Attorney General has a program called the Address Confidentiality established specifically for victims of domestic violence and stalking victims who wish to exercise their right to vote.  The records of voters enrolled in the Address Confidentiality Program are maintained in hard copy form and do not appear in the Voter Registration database.  For more information, please see Address Confidentiality Program.
