Frequently Asked Questions About Mail Ballot Election

MAIL BALLOT ELECTION:

In addition to the regular September 1, 2009 St. Petersburg Primary, the City of Belleair Bluffs has asked the Supervisor of Elections to conduct a "Mail Ballot" Referendum Election, pursuant to Florida Statute 101.6102.

ALL REGISTERED VOTERS in the City of Belleair Bluffs will be mailed ballots for the referendum election as follows:

July 15 – Overseas ballots were mailed [Florida Statutes 101.6103(7) and 101.62(4)(a)]

August 12 - Domestic ballots were mailed to ALL registered voters living in Precinct 358, which comprises the City of Belleair Bluffs. [Florida Statute 101.6103 requires that all domestic ballots be mailed no sooner than 20 days prior to the election, and no later than 10 days prior to the election.] Voters do not need to request a ballot.

To vote in this election, voters must return a mail ballot to the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. September 1.  Voters may also pick up a ballot or vote in person at any Supervisor of Elections office.  No polling places will be open for this election.

Voters who do not receive their ballots within a few days of the mailing dates above may call (727) 464-6788 to check their status.

Voters who need a replacement ballot will need to complete a Replacement Ballot Oath, sign it and return it to the Supervisor of Elections in person, by mail, or by fax (727) 464-7636. This oath is required by Florida Statute 101.6103(4) concerning mail ballot elections.
