County Canvassing Board to certify results for Presidential |
Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark announces that the Pinellas County Canvassing Board will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, February 10 at the Election Service Center, 13001 Starkey Rd. in Largo.
The Board will canvass 10-day overseas absentee ballots (federal race only), certify the January 31 Presidential Preference Primary results, and conduct a post-election test of the tabulation equipment. The Board will also draw the race and precinct(s) for the post-election manual audit as required by Florida Statute 101.591 and Rule 1S-5.026, F.A.C. After a brief recess, the Board will conduct the post-election manual audit.
State law requires that the post-election manual audit be completed within seven days of the certification of election results. The race must be selected randomly, and 2 percent of precincts for that race must be selected randomly.
The purpose of the audit is to ensure that the voting equipment used in the election accurately counted votes.
All Canvassing Board meetings are open to the public and will be held at the Election Service Center, 13001 Starkey Rd., Largo in the Starkey Lakes Corporate Center.
