Important Information

the safety of our voters and poll workers is a priority. the pinellas county supervisor of elections continues to enhance sanitation protocols to protect residents of assisted living facilities, voters and election workers in response to covid-19. below provides an overview of these actions, additional polling place change information and how to get election ready:

Sanitation Protocols

• Each early voting location and election day polling place will have hand sanitizer; sanitizing wipes for hands; and sanitizing wipes counter tops, pens and other surfaces. however, because resources are limited, we have encouraged voters and poll workers to bring their own sanitizing materials and take additional precautions they feel necessary to protect themselves from germs. below are links for information on how to help protect yourself and others:

Assisted Living Facilities No Longer Polling Places

• In response to the threat of the novel coronavirus (covid-19), eight polling places have been moved from assisted living facilities.Voters impacted by the changes have been directed to other polling places nearby. Go to find your precinct  for polling place information.
• emergency polling place change notices have been mailed to voters impacted by the changes.
• In addition, attempts to contact voters who have not already cast a ballot have been made using mail, phone calls, text and email.
• On Election Day (march 17, 2020), election workers will be stationed at the eight original assisted living facility polling places to give voters information about and directions to their new polling place.

Other Polling Place Changes Due to Covid-19

• In addition to assisted living facilities, other facilities have notified the pinellas county supervisor of elections office that they will not serve as a polling place for the March 17, 2020 election.
• For facilities that contacted us on or after march 11, 2020, emergency polling place change notices have been mailed to voters impacted by the changes. however, notices will not be mailed to voters for polling place changes made after march 13, 2020, as the notices will not reach voters timely.
• In addition, attempts to contact voters who have not already cast a ballot have been made using mail, phone calls, text and email.
• Polling place change signs and maps will be posted at these locations to give voters information about and directions to their new polling place.

Polling Place Changes Not Due to Covid-19

• Facilities that did not renew their polling place contracts, voter information cards were mailed to voters with updated polling place information.
• Polling place change signs and maps will be posted at these locations to give voters information about and directions to their new polling place.

Mail Ballot Voting

• The deadline to have a ballot mailed to voters was march 7, 2020.
• Voters who have requested a mail ballot may drop off their ballot at any mail ballot return site.
• The suggested deadline to mail a ballot back to the pinellas county supervisor of elections was march 10, 2020.
• Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m., Election Day, March 17, 2020.
